Through this grant funded position the School Resource Officer (SRO) works one day in the Oxford High School and a second day in the Oxford Middle School. The SRO functions as a liaison of the OPD with the school administration, Juvenile Court, and the Department of Children and Families. The SRO enjoys heavy interaction with the pupils by offering various educational programs and by being a weekly presence in the schools.
