Firearms Forms & Applications

1. Fill out application form completely. Answer all questions and be sure to sign the application. You must be a resident of Oxford or have a business in Oxford.
2. Completed applications may be returned or mailed to the Police Station c/o Debbie Light. When returning applications, be sure to submit the following:
   1. Copy of successful completion of Firearms Safety Course or Hunter Education Program if new license or if renewing as a new resident of Oxford;
   2. Check or Money Order payable to the Town of Oxford in the amount of $100.00. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.
   3. Restricted FID (Mace only) cost is $25.00;
   4. Age 70 or older no charge.
3. Applications will be entered into the computer system and fingerprints and pictures will be taken on the first and third Thursday of the month between 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Upon completion of this process your permit will be electronically sent to the Department of Public Safety for final processing. This process should take approximately sixty (60) days.
4. Permits will be mailed to you, therefore, please be sure to leave your mailing address if different than your street address on your application.
5. All applicants should check with Mrs. Light on the status of their permits if not received within 8 to 10 weeks after fingerprints and pictures have been taken.
